The Kano State chapter of the People\u2019s Democratic Party (PDP) held a parallel ward congress today, orchestrated by a faction led by Ibrahim Al\u2019amin Little and Sadiq Wali. <\/p>
<\/p>
The faction accused the group led by Malam Ibrahim Shekarau and Bello Hayatu Gwarzo of conducting improper actions within the party, calling for immediate intervention from the national leadership.<\/p>
<\/p>
The congress was described as an effort to ensure transparency and uphold the principles of fairness within the party\u2019s democratic processes. <\/p>
<\/p>
The Little-Wali faction expressed concerns that key decisions affecting the state party are being manipulated by certain leaders jeopardizing the unity and electoral success of the PDP in Kano.<\/p>

In a statement, Ibrahim Al\u2019amin Little and Sadiq Wali emphasized that their faction\u2019s congress adhered to the party\u2019s guidelines and that their actions reflect the growing frustration with the leadership style of Shekarau and Hayatu.<\/p>

\u201cWe are committed to ideals of democracy and justice within the PDP. <\/p>
<\/p>
\u201cWe cannot stand by while certain individuals act as if they are above the party\u2019s rules and procedures. <\/p>
<\/p>
\u201cWe call on the national leadership to intervene and bring order to the Kano State chapter before this crisis escalates further,\u201d Al\u2019amin Little said.<\/p>
<\/p>
The faction expressed its willingness to work towards reconciliation and stressed that this would only be possible if the party leadership in Abuja took decisive steps to address the alleged imbalances. <\/p>

The national leadership of the PDP is being urged to convene and take necessary actions to prevent the situation from undermining the party\u2019s preparations for upcoming elections.<\/p>

He noted that if the PDP\u2019s previous leadership had effectively managed internal conflicts, key figures like former Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike, Kwankwaso, and Peter Obi would still be part of the PDP, which he believes would have led to a victory over Bola Tinubu in the last election.<\/p>

When asked if the PDP was making efforts to bring Obi, Kwankwaso, Wike, and others back into the party, Abdullahi responded: \u201cWe\u2019ve lost Kwankwaso, we\u2019ve lost Peter Obi, all of these people. Imagine if they were in the party, we would have gone to win the elections.<\/p>

\u201cThis APC said they defeated us with one million plus (votes); just one of these names that I mentioned would have covered that gap for us, and we would have been in power today. Certainly, Nigerians would not have been confronted with this despair and despondency in the land.<\/p>

\u201cSure, discussions are ongoing. You will see Peter Obi discussing with Atiku, you will see Peter Obi meeting with (Nasir) El-Rufai. Party management is a very difficult thing, and we are doing our best in the quagmire that we have found ourselves. <\/p>

\"Rest assured, there will be light at the end of the tunnel. We have bitterly learned our lessons.<\/p>
<\/p>
\u2018\u2019One of them would concede for the other, and then we would have a direction. Our concern as a party, and to these people that I have mentioned, is to ensure that we salvage Nigerians from this despair and despondency, from the maladies of hunger and frightening insecurity in the land. Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission (KESIEC), on Sunday, declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of Saturday\u2019s local council polls in the state.<\/p>

Aliyu Muhammad-Mera, Chairman of the commission, who announced this in Birnin Kebbi on Sunday, said the party won all the 21 Chairmanship seats and 225 Ward Councillors.<\/p>

The Chairman of the Electoral Committee for the Congress, Senator Istifanus Gyang, described the conduct of the election as smooth, adding that the officials were unopposed.<\/p>
<\/p>
He urged the new officials to uphold transparency and accountability, reminding them that true power resides with the people.<\/p>
